Versaplot Random is an efficient and extremely flexible system ofsoftware subroutines designed to produce virtually any graphicrepresentation on Versatec printer/plotters using either a Versatecintelligent graphics processor or a Versatec off-line plotting system.Integrated for use with Sun Workstation systems utilizing the UNIXoperating system, these packages allow immediate installation andcomplete on-line and off-line plotting capability.Versaplot Random software accepts user application calls and outputsVersatec Random Format (VRF) data in Versatec Data Standard format. VRFis a revolutionary format that enhances plotting efficiency byrepresenting plot data in a more powerful "element" form. Representingcomplex graphic entities, such as text and circles, in a high-levelconstruct reduces both the amount of data to be processed and theassociated requirements for memory and data output. In addition, CPU andI/O overhead are reduced even more by off-loading the ordering andrasterization process to a Versatec intelligent graphics processor.
